Also hilarious that futures who knows ball isn’t blaming the refs there for blatant collusion allowing a pre snap penalty signaled as false start to result in a turnover. The league hates the raiders/loves chiefs and these types of calls constantly happens to the raiders and no one else. They didn’t even allow the broadcast to show a replay 😂

Yeah false start is a dead ball penalty so idk just a weird scenario, Chiefs are so exposible

definitely odd but despite the wrong signal the call was illegal shift (the right call) which isn't a dead ball penalty and it wasn't blown dead until after recovery. the refs have deference to discuss all penalties before announced and people are fine with getting the call right in all other circumstances. it's just very unfortunate. what am i missing?

The ref at the top of the screen is running in. He's blowing his whistle signaling the play is dead and signaling false start.

he did but he got it wrong, it was an illegal shift which they discussed and decided was the correct call. the whistle also didn't happen until after the snap. refs huddle and talk over calls every week and do change them on the field. i don't think this is controversial.

they talked over the movement and said illegal shift was the right call not false start, it's the same sequence. i would get it if there was a false start but the movement was deemed illegal shift which is not a dead ball penalty.
