Agreed. I wouldn't really call Whitesnake a hair metal band though seeing as the majority of their
discography is blues rock. They only released 2 or 3 albums that could be considerred hair metal (1987, Slip of the Tongue and arguably Slide it In, although that one's debateable).

I like to compare hair metal with nu metal, both widely panned genres that did mostly suck, but had a small amount of bands that were legitimately awesome
