I hate Myles Garrett with a passion but he's a great player. He's a punk but a great player lol.

I refuse to watch the Browns until they figure out this QB shit and get rid of their creep brigade at QB. Trading away their future for three seasons of absolutely nothing.

yeah the watson saga is like the only non-relocation related scenario i can think of where the fanbase gets a free pass to start rooting for another team and nobody is allowed to say shit to them

i'd like myles garrett a lot more if he didn't turn into prime reggie white every time he played the steelers

" free pass to start rooting for another team and nobody is allowed to say shit to them"

i get the sentiment but i absolutely refuse. i just straight up just stopped watching football entirely outside of watching highlights and the super bowl. on the other hand, the hiatus from football has given me a greater appreciation of other sports so i view it as a win in my book (plus i don't have to be pissed off every sunday even if Cleveland won because this season has been hilariously terrible from a morale standpoint)

re: Before the League
from what I've gathered, the people behind it probably have the rights, it's a distro issue that prevented it from coming out since they were only bound to a one-year exclusive contract with Time Warner. Seems like the type of doc someone probably has on a DVR somewhere and we'll see it uploaded to YouTube in like 10 years from now.

Every time? Bro that was by far the best game he's had against the Steelers lol. Last year he didn't do shit against them.

September's game, sure, but the other game last year tells a different story statistically. He's been fairly consistent against them in his career.

i mean ultimately if we policed every facet of what entertainment truly is, you might as well just face the fact that there's no real ethical avenue to take, it's naive to think otherwise. the best running back Cleveland has ever had (for now - Jim Brown) was pretty well known for being a major piece of shit and almost every team has had someone of questionable character. this is a common thing, whether it be sports, music, or any artform in general.

this issue also ties in with a lot of people, whether they want to admit or not, very much closely tie their sense of identity with the teams/franchises they support - this can also be applied to the arts as well. these people aren't your friends, they're here to entertain you. you can always vote with your dollar, but at the end of the day, their values aren't always going to align with yours, which is why I will never shame anyone who continues to support the Browns solely because it's their team, they watch them *because* it's their team and they will ride or die with them.

well stated friend. there will always be something bad or disagreeable somewhere even if it’s the bassist or a 2nd string guy so better to just block it all out instead of hunting down everything which would truly be impossible and even unhealthy. policing entertainment has always felt odd to me because you’re right i don’t know these people, they aren’t my dad. my values don’t need to be aligned with what i watch or consume to escape from reality. if you want to be consistent your choices would be very limited even as a whole like organizations like the nfl are pretty morally questionable after all they let watson play again when he should’ve been banned. like i will never miss a jon jones fight even though he is a piece of shit. robbing yourself of that feels like missing out. outside of like rape i don’t like the no second chances culture there is now like one bad thing/saying something stupid once and you’re done forever, I think people can change even people i hate.

watson though i do think is a special case and i like to think i would’ve stopped being a fan but i can’t say for sure because as shitty as the jags are they do mean a lot to me as lame as it sounds.

and happy thanksgiving lol bears as is tradition

Yeah I mean there were still hundreds of thousands/millions of rabid Steelers fans during the Big Ben era despite Big Ben being a creep so fair enough.

wrt Big Ben, I do have to say that's a bit of difficult case where fans had to reckon they finally had a legitimately great quarterback again, but the fun part was the cognitive dissonance when these same fans proceeded to protest them signing Michael Vick, who unlike Ben, has admitted what he had done was wrong and actively has tried to do the right thing ever since. So my prior statement does have a bit of flaw in it because in this situation, but there's no real right answer to this dilemma lol.

I vividly remember fans protesting the signing and finding the hypocrisy all too delicious. On one hand, I can see the hesitation, but it's a business and an organization is always going to try, believe it or not, to put themselves in the best position to succeed, even if it fails catastrophically and you have no first round picks for three years and the guy you got only plays 6 games for three seasons in a row.

ngl i'm convinced if Watson didn't suck as a QB we would still be dealing with fans calling the victims whores and defending Watson from the allegations

i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say there was no way Watson wasn't going to not suck after not playing for over a year and getting way into his own head - all things he did to himself, mind you. The guy was never a winner in Houston and I don't think coming to Cleveland was magically going to change that.
