Only jammed this once so far, need to give it a few more spins and see where it sits.

That would not be the wisest decision to make, but we all make mistakes

How similar is the rest of their discog to this?

Well you can tell it's still Ulcerate. The album has a more melodic flow than any of their previous records, and it's also more like Shrines than it is like EIF

I'd argue it's the most memorable of their albums

It's certainly the only Ulcerate album that has hooked me and I am listening on a regular basis. Might be my tastes have changed but I feel there is something different in this one. Something doom-ish

I think the change from the sparse, slightly overdriven guitars in the slower passages to the chorus driven and clean/ethereal gives a new direction for the atmosphere of this album. It felt a lot less sinister than previous works and felt more desperate and gloomy.

The review Summary says 'Ulcerate set new standards as they usher in the new decade' but it should say the SAME standards... I've realised that the Ulcerate sound is unable to be pushed forward any more and I'm tired of their repetitiveness even if it was mind blowing many years ago
