So happy this is finally getting a much needed remix. Idk how Scott Burns made this sound so bad with his resume.

I would love a '90s remix, 21st century remixes are bad for the most part

Low budget maybe? But still, the album sounds awesome, if a bit lofi (which I like irrespective of genre)

Original mix perfectly captures the ethereal nature of the album - very curious how they will approach a remix - agree with voivod re 90s remix vs 21st century remix - excited to hear it either way! Best album ever

personally I don't really care about a remix/remaster, but I love all this old footage

the new remix/remaster is oddly flat. the clean guitar moments sound really empty. the OG mix goes so hard

Disagree. Listened to both on Focal Clear and the new mix is way better. Drums are super cleaned up. Guitars feel high in the mix to me. If anything the bass is a little low.

| |
Oh man what happened to the drums? I was expecting the usual drum kick that starts the song only to find it much quieter, which was a "oh no" moment, and indeed in the rest of the song the drums sound like they put a veil (ha) over them. Bass guitar too has a smaller presence.
Ugh why of all the albums ever would you do this to Focus. Not to mention how the original had waaay more headroom due to the full dynamic range (so not considering the compressed 2004 remaster).
Anyway, at least the louder guitars and certain vocal bits are interesting to hear this way... even if I never really had problems with them in the og? Idk.
