i mean it’s why i refuse to rate this album. the production thing is absolutely a personal bias that I think invalidates any critique I would have of the music, so I don’t think any opinion I might have is valuable.

I’m mostly just lamenting that it stops me from enjoying this one, because the preceding album is one of my all time favorites.

I know Obscura is considered a classic but I genuinely think that this is their best album by a margin. It’s so well composed and recorded, especially the guitars. The vocals on this are also a big improvement compared to past releases.

it is better in my opinion, it's the evolution of Obscura and From Wisdom to Hate, more fully realized Gorguts. Even though FWTH was kind of an odd mix of the Obscura style and old school death metal of the earlier stuff, in a way.
