No bass, midway between thrash and radio style which means it's good at neither, poor composition.
Metallica sucks at making songs and Lars is terrible. Their fame comes from the work of Mustaine and Burton and they rode it to this day.
Now i'm not denying their talent, they're great players (well...except Lars) but they're just not good at composing.
The simpler song structure from the black album was better suited to their strengths without Burton, imo.
To clarify, i'm not saying it's terrible either, i did rate it a 3.0
