right, the end of that last page was something

let's go back to talking about how this album was never scary, eerie or disconcerting until we learnt about all the abuse

or how you suck unless you prefer TJL

or how S/T is actually good music

or hell I'll even accept the art / artist debate for the zillionth time

I never *met* Alexis Marshall (never talked to him), he just grabbed my head once at a concert, and I've since washed my hair with copious amounts of shampoo, so I'm good.

But he's such a bag of shit of a person that it hinders my enjoyment of the record, and I distinctively remember thinking this is one of the best albums ever at one point in my life.

I don't want to rehash the Courtney Barnett argument here but there were never any compelling counter arguments. You guys really don't think there were some women George Michael fans in the 90s who may have changed their feelings regarding his songs upon finding out there was no chance they could be the object in them?

I could put this into a simple syllogism:

Not being able to imagine myself as the object in a love song decreases my enjoyment

I cannot possibly be the object of a love song if I am a sex the singer is not interested in

My enjoyment of a love song decreases

You can say the premises are weird, sure, but it's valid logic here.

i mean the logic between the 3 statements is functional but the first statement is confusing as heck to me (and others, it would seem lol)

I mean admittedly this is a much better conclusion than what could have been (wrongfully) assumed by the original statement, but the whole exchange is A+ Sput material
