This dunks on everything they’ve ever done. I almost didn’t even listen to this cause of the average bar they set and I’m glad I did

dunks on everything they've ever done [2] their debut is the only one that even comes close to the quality of this album

Their best album for sure but I don't think there's a chasm between this and their other albums.

III is easily my least favorite. Almost nothing I return to on that album besides Prayer Position and Lune

this easily has their tightest and most coherent songwriting. v is fun but is very clearly a regression in that regard, and everything before feels much more stapled together than this

Yeah I have no idea how they released something this good. Reptile live was an absolute spectacle, these dudes just rip through a 12 minute song like it's nothing.

Hate Spencer all you want but this band is talented idgaf what anyone says

Oh yeah don’t let my low periphery ratings fool you, I think Spencer (and all these guys really) is/are super talented, I just genuinely dislike his vocals

Dude you are wild for that take. Misha hasn’t had an original idea maybe the entirety of his career but halpern is basically teeing off gospel chops over these d- list meshuggah rip off riffs

Matt is easily the most musically talented member of Periphery.

he's also just the most genuine among them, anytime you see him in their docs he's just so genuinely pumped and excited about the song writing and the process and always has ideas to put out to the rest of them
