I do like the vocals here. My main critical point is that the sound is lacking chunkiness. But amazing album overall.

I think that's kind of down to the production unfortunately. Overall I think it's definitely lacks some clarity compared to Symbolic. It's only a minor complaint for me though.

Just re-listened to this for the thousandth time. Still so many amazing moments. I think the only part that sort of drags for me is the outro of Story to Tell into the intro of Flesh and the Power It Holds.

The intro of flesh & the power it holds is literally the best part of the entire album

I remember being like 13 and impressionable on Facebook way back in the day (maybe 2009?) - heaviest thing I had listened to at that point was Slipknot or maybe Mudvayne lmao - and this random goth chick that I had added DM'd me. She asked if I liked metal and if I had ever heard about this band. She sent me a YouTube link for this album, and my mind was blown. I can't remember her name, but I hope she's doing well. Probs my favorite death metal album of all time, and even death metal band of all time. Morbid trivia: Chuck's death was on my 5th birthday

Was hoping you ended up marrying her because if a goth girl had gotten me into dm at 13 I would’ve been in love for life

Flesh and the Power It Holds is still a top 5 Death song for me in general. Incredible stuff

To Forgive is to Suffer is my fav here, but its also special because its the first Death song I ever heard.

Did you also pirate an Ukrainian copy of CS:Source back in 2008?
