I would bother with a serious reply, but it won't because that was a joke. I give this a 3.0, I thought that'd make the joke obvious, hell, it probably did and you're the first one that thought I was serious.
By the way, wouldn't "constantly changing dynamics" and/or "violent dynamic shifts" make things more interesting for most people?

Not necessarily, and I would argue that it probably does the opposite. I can't think of many popular releases that shift from quiet ambience to blaring guitars so quickly and frequently. Rap, punk, metal, etc have somewhat consistent dynamics throughout, at least when you compare it to something like LYSF. It's not like "most people" are ever going to listen to a spoken word sample followed by a droney, post rock section, followed by 5 minutes of reiki gongs and symbols

Mmmmmmmmmm... Yeah, I guess that makes sense.

Yeah I guess personally I rarely listen to LYSF all the way through. Each track is extremely enjoyable by itself but taken together is a little exhausting. But that's just, like, my opinion man

I remember exactly where I was when I first heard this. Life changing record!

Hey, I remember that too, I was in my room. It was alright.

I listened to this, Slow Riot, and Lift for the time in a while and they're all pretty much perfect. The first 6-7 minutes of this makes me feel frozen in place, can't focus on anything else. One of the best ways to open an album.

I don’t think my ratings quite reflect how superior this & Slow Riot are to LYSF. I might need to revisit.

I originally bought this in high school cause I thought the cover was spooky. Did the same thing for Slint too. Goes to show you how useful the spooky metric is.

Post-rock is a wonderful genre, especially its first 10-15 years.

The guitarist Efrim Menuck will release two albums in 2019, one at the beginning of the year and then one in the spring AT least that's what I've heard. Efrim has said he would release an album called ''ARCTIC CIRCLES ABLAZE'' in january and then another one called ''DO THE POLICE EMBRACE?'' in the spring (apparently he likes caps?)
Also I wouldn't doubt if Godspeed releases a record in 2019 as well.

Still not used to this band releasing stuff on the regular... I clearly remember waiting a decade for the follow-up to Yanqui and randomly googling the band every couple years

It's hard to tell what the band are up to since there's so many members and they're all doing different stuff. Efrim is an engineer at hotel2tango in montreal and then Thierry owns a restaurant in montreal and Mauro actually owns a live venue in the city as well (Actually, I'm pretty sure Efrim does to). They have really helped out bands in the city and elsewhere by giving them cheaper places to play and letting them record albums for cheaper.
