I love how people use recency bias as an excuse as if nostalgia bias isnt massively more potent factor for this band
It's not as if people were calling Gore their best album when it came out

Let people have their opinions, even if they suck

I don't get influenced at least when it comes to newer albums even by bands I love. I just want to know if it sucks or is great. I disliked Gore a lot when it came out and actually disliked it even more with further listens. I said from the beginning it sounded like a boring Team Sleep record

I also think this album is quite amazing but I just can't put it above DE or White Pony

If this had a white animal on the front cover everyone would be saying it's better than diamond eyes

It's quite the assumption that other people en masse do just because they dont share your opinion dont you think?

If the whole alb was on par with ceremony through error and tlid I could 4 it but there are a few too many moments that dont do it for me

I feel like Eros coming out and you giving it a genuine 5 or 4.5 is a somewhat likely scenario

Completely possible

keep holding your breath on eros
could be 5 years if they actually concur on releasing it

Obviously I didn't know chi but dont you think the dude would want his final recordings to see the light of day?

however long it is as long as they release an EP version of it at least
Every piece of recording or live material that's come out of it has been amazing

If I was in that sitch I'd be shaking my fist at my homies from up in the clouds if they backburnered that shit

"Obviously I didn't know chi but dont you think the dude would want his final recordings to see the light of day?"
Chino said that it might be too painful for them to revisit and re-open those files and I guess I can kinda understand why. His death really did hit them very hard, I mean last year Chino got really emotional during a performance of Minerva that he dedicated to Chi to the point where he couldn't even sing the song live
|
| |
I understand that and the feelings that would be dug up but the way I see it it's not about them, it's about chi, I think it would be really respectful and brave to face those feelings and honor him and those recordings by finishing them and letting them see the light of day. Might so bring some closure. Just my opinion tho.
Those kinds of releases tend to be really impactful. Thinking of that Mac Miller alb and that Gang Starr alb. I dont like Mac Miller but his fans really resonated with it and it kind of topped off his legacy. Same with the Gang Starr alb except I love Gang Starr, straight up brings tears to my eyes listening to that alb

Agree with Potsy. Saying it's too hard for them is kind of a cop out. Not that they owe it to people or anything, but it's about Chi and his legacy.

all fair and all
but in the end it’s the decision of the other 4. they were all like brothers anyway. chi’s legacy will still be relevant in what’s he’s been on, another album won’t hurt but yea.
chino recently he’s unsure of if/when it will get worked on.
