I love most of their records, but yeah, this wasn't a particularly easy listen, and the production values make it even harder to enjoy. I got the vinyl version and hooked it up with some good speakers and I must say that it vastly improved my general experience with this.

and the usual deftones effect took hold of me: after giving every album a year break and relistening to it while knowing roughly what to expect, it gets better. kinda seem to underrate their albums depending on my expectation not being met until giving them some time. up to 3.5
