i definitely understand liking this more, but its brand of brutality comes mostly from an all out assault of intensity. pierced from within is in another league both technically and structurally. not to mention it's sound is so iconic it spawned multiple imitator genres.
but i mean this still rules face obviously, its just a question of what's #1.

I think I prefer this to Suffocations stuff but that's a tough call tbh. Human Waste might beat this out but I think I put this above Effigy and Pierced. They're all classics though and some Immolation, Gorguts, Autopsy and Demilich is right up there with it. Those are probably the GOATS of death metal for me along with the almighty Death. For the more brutal end of the spectrum it's all about the Mortal Decay, Skinless, Dying Fetus, Internal Bleeding and for nostalgic reasons the greatest one man band Putrid Pile
