Mein is a weird single choice. Cherry shouldve gotten the treatment

not at all, it doesn't have the "single" factors like Mein did.

Mein's quick and shorter, interesting rhythm, has Tankian (the kids loved that). plus the urban video helped plenty with the album. why give the "cherry" top of the album away and not to be appreciated within after purchase?

Mein sold pretty poorly and a lot of people thought it was boring. Maybe cherry shouldnt been the next single but mein isnt the best cut

Tho tbh its not really an album that has "singles" on it

Yea Mein does make sense as a single though it's still one of the album's weaker tracks. Kimdracula would have worked beautifully as a single imo.

as an online only single yea, too simple and works better in context of the album

goes without saying but I should've said it would've been better received discovered in-record and not stand-alone

Mein was a bad choice honestly Beware, Cherry Waves and Kimdracula all would've worked better

Beware is way too long and slow to work as a single, and I say this as a person who would rank it as their greatest song ever. it's really not a good choice

Hole in the Earth, maybe Xerces and Cherry Waves are the only songs on here I see working as singles

Pink Cellphone would make such a killer lead single

"Beware is way too long and slow to work as a single"

It's not much slower than Change or Minerva. Cut the outro out and that fixes the length problem

yeah, but it doesn't have as strong/catchy a melody as either of those songs imo. the chorus goes in for the hypnotic repetitive effect rather than immediate effect. and it leaves both those songs in the dust, but it wouldn't be a good song to spin on the radio

Beware wasnt a single

Riviere is a more accessible cut here too, but im normally not too into having the closer be a single. And its a very closer-y song

for what it's worth, I've gotten at least 2-3 people into the band on the strength of "Beware" alone, I think it woulda sufficed well as a single
