I never got the praise for this, to be honest. They dropped some of the technicality of O' God and it doesn't have the doomy atmosphere of Bless the Martyr... It also isn't as melodic as The Anti Mother and lacks the heavy punch of Meridional. I'd probably be more interested in this if it had more songs like "The End Of All Things Will Be Televised", which reminds me of O' God (one of my favorite albums from them) or the catchy "Cemetery Like A Stage".

don't know about that, lots of energetic songs to choose from from all their albums. can't go wrong with this band, though.
Edit: After re-listening to Small Spark I think you're onto something. The Longest Lasting Statement also rules hard. Those four songs alone might be enough for me to bump this sometime. We'll see.
