I think Abe is definitely the star here (which is pretty par for the course), with chino not far behind

Why not?
S: infinite source, milk of the Madonna, metal dream
A: ecdysis,I think about you all the time, souvenir, my mind, cxz
B: cut hands, locked club, departing the body
But as you can probably tell based on my 4.5 rating, I still think even the three B tracks are great.

On a more serious note, the guitars are definitely there.

Larkin: honestly, I can understand departing my body being last. I rly wish the chorus weren’t so meh in that one.

How can you like infinite source, I think about you all the time and then put metal dream as the lowest? They’re all 3 S tier for me

This album has been growing on me hard with each successive listen.
I also liked Milk of the Madonna as a single, but I love it even more now in the context of the album. The atmosphere of paranoid urgency in that song is phenomenal.
Abe and Chino are absolutely the standouts here, for sure.

Yeah I’ve come to find that out in every aspect of this album. When my mind is a mountain dropped I was like hmm… it’s definitely a Deftones song. Then I listened on loop and I swear it about became the best thing they’d done since Koi easily. Milk of the Madonna is great but I’d still likely consider it my least favorite of the album as a whole. But yeah every aspect of this album gets better and better on subsequent listens for sure. I’ve done 6 loops in full but god no telling how many times I’ve listened to infinite source and I think about you all the time by themselves

"I rly wish the chorus weren’t so meh in that one."
I don't know, I dig the chorus tbh. It's not the best one on the album, but it's better than a lot of the other ones and I just love everything else about the song. Abe goes ham in that final section

It was an immediate highlight. I guess this album resonates with me so well because I tend to dig the ones people are underrating. And it’s not like I intentionally did. I just picked out my highlights and compared with AOTY and rym and was like wait a minute okay yall are listening to this all wrong lmao. Like this is why it’s a 5 for me and yall are dragging the average

Just played departing the body again and yeah idk, that chorus… I don’t think it’s bad, I just think the song could be a whole tier higher if it were better. I rly do love everything else going on in that track tho. Thought it was very whatever the first time I heard it, but I’ve enjoyed it more each new spin

I would describe this album as "Dreamy". A lot of the chorus' soar, and are fun to sing to, with the overall sound, holding a culmination of everything they have done. I like that there aren't a lot of screams on the album; it lets Chino's voice breathe a bit more here.
Plus, I love what Frank is doing on this album.

Finally gave a spin to this and I loved it. Might be Top 3 Deftones honestly, but I must burn it a bit more to be sure
