Even calling them “rap parts” is giving them far more credit than they deserve.

Tbh I even really liked the first couple albums, not in any sense that they were mind boggling art but they combined things and hit in a certain way that nothing else I was listening to really did at the time, they hadn't blown up yet and they were a fun little band to throw into my rotation and get hooked on the hooks. But holy shit the last couple records I cannot even drum up a modicum of interested in I am so exhausted of and done w/ this band and tired of hearing about them yikes.

"Like I've said many times before, I get the hate this band gets, but to a point. I can certainly justify lots of criticism regarding dumb/cringeworthy stuff they do, but it truly gets to a point where it is childish lmao. Objectively, the music isn't that bad, regardless of what the singer yaps about or not."
I do largely agree with this too tho. It's equally exhausting to see the bandwagon piling on of hate the band gets especially from people whomst I SEE listening to *at least* equally trashy trash>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"pre-50s you're into compilation territory and scavenging definitive/convenient album-scale statements can be a pain, but otherwise this most defs isn't an issue i've encountered lol"
Yeah, I would agree with this.
I feel silly right now. I'm way more interested in talking jazz, and hijacking a popular thread just seems so much easier than facilitating that talk elsewhere - lmao.

If one of the most popular music groups in the world right now is releasing conceptual albums with six, seven, and eight minute songs while blending piano, r&b, rock, screaming, and blastbeats... I think I am okay with that.

This is not good enough to deserve people going out of their way to defend it, nor even remotely offensive to validate people being triggered by it.

Cool. I realized seeing Mr.'s list that I could have gaslit myself entirely lol.
And I'm only aboard the "hate train" because this had the audacity to confront me and enter my internet spaces by being popular. Never even heard of this shit until like a week or two ago. But I'd much rather prefer to forget this than propagate "wtf band sux!!!"

I liked this way more than I care to admit, but I also see why people don't like it at all
My biggest issue with this album is that people act like it's the greatest album known to man kind... just because a band adds metal to their soft pop sound doesn't make them innovative genre benders, but people act like no other band has done it before.
I enjoyed the album, but I also don't think I would be as harsh on it if it weren't for how extreme people were about it.

It's seriously so laughable. Anyone could blend genres, it doesn't make you innovative.
