Multiple former bandmates of Boston testified that Scholz' unpleasant personality and pigeonholing of Delp into staying into Boston are why he committed suicide. Delp was constantly being abused and taken advantage of by Scholz, who was utilizing the fact that Delp was a softie who didn't like getting into conflicts with others and new Delp would never fight back. Coupled with the fact that Delp suffered depression which Scholz amplified. When all this testimony came out, Scholz got defensive and tried to say the reason was because of Delp's hidden camera incident with Meg Sullivan, which Delp's suicide note very explicitly said was NOT the reason he did it. Tom tried to use a serious incident that happened as some kind of fuel to annul himself of any blame.
Delp fucked up with the camera, but all parties involved got over it and even Meg Sullivan also testified that Delp's reasoning for suicide most likely had to do with Scholz.
Fuck. Tom. Scholz.

This tells a somewhat different story.

^I already mentioned this stuff. Also in that same Deposition Meg said she felt Scholz was the primary reason for Delp's suicide, and in his suicide note's Delp wrote that Meg and her boyfriend WERE NOT the reason he did this.

Meg Sullivan's feelings about Delp's reasons suicide are pure conjecture. The circumstances of him choosing to commit suicide in the midst of the issue with her and before reconciling with her paint the picture of him being distraught over that issue which contributed to his decision to commit suicide, regardless of her opinion.
Also, in his suicide note Delp said he had suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts since he was a teenager and he didn't even mention Scholz. So you can choose to either believe Delp's suicide note or not, but you can't selectively choose to believe some parts and disbelieve others. Depression is a disease and blaming one person for causing another's depression is bargain basement armchair psychoanalysis.
Delp was solely responsible for his own suicide and he blamed himself. Was his mental state helped by his working relationship with Scholz? Probably not. Was it helped by Pam Sullivan cheating on him? No. Was it helped by his falling out with Meg? Apparently not. But that doesn't make Scholz or Pam any more responsible for his suicide than Meg or her boyfriend.

Just listened to this for the first ever time, on a whim. This is an easy 5 if I've seen one. Sublime album!
Edit - 4.5 for me though. 5's are reserved for albums that hit me on a completely other level. This one's close, mind!
