Full disclosure, I initially confused these guys with State Champs...who are terrible.
|

Love these guys, always get me in my feels. Been a fan since their debut and they haven't disappointed me since. From the looks of this review, they probably won't at all.

Man State Champs really stepped up their game for this one

first track lil ambient/audio piece plays so well into sucking the listener into blood moon. I know the singles are old news to everyone, but I purposefully didn't listen to em to hear this thing in full since its been awhile

Blood Moon is absolutely stunning, it's one of their best ever songs and probably their best single next to the mwY one from R/D

The Underoath-ass cleans are a negative aspect for me and some of the guitars don’t do a lot to stand out or rather they feel kind of skramz by the numbers, but even with those complaints this is really nice. The album really comes into itself in the run from Divination on, for me. I don’t get what’s so exceptional or game changing about it though.

I’m a sucker for older underoath so that probably ties into why I like this so much. Definitely took like five listens though. Had a flight today, and this is all I listened to for the most part. Every listen I keep finding new things I like about it
