Damn I think Encore is like 8000000x worse than this in every imaginable way
I just jammed that again a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years and holy shit, that was like way fuckin worse than I remember. Unlistenable.

There's been a weird zoomer Encore revival thing going on for a few years and I WILL NOT stand for it, that album SUCKS
A friend told me his favorite Em song was Just Lose It and I reflexively told him he's an idiot

oh no it’s absolutely terrible but this is worse. I haven’t listened to Relapse or Encore probably since fucking high school tho, and I don’t give enough of a shit to put myself through those albums any time soon lol

I wouldn't call my friends idiots for liking (subjectively) bad music. You are a bad friend
|

I've called my friends idiots for liking things far more subjective than bad music, but yeah I'm probs a bad friend

And another thing!
Em stans wanting their own echo chamber so they can jerk each other off to a mediocre soundtrack. Counter the negative talking points with something substantial and not "erm, why is hip hop not in your top genres?"

If hip hop was in my top genres, all it would accomplish is give me more albums to rank above this one

Eminem stans listening to Eminem 😤
Eminem stans reading strangers’ comments calling Eminem overrated 😭

Relapse is good

Relapse is way better than I remember, but I feel like part of why I like a lot of songs now is because the bar was so fucking low for all of these years lol
It's still like a billion times better than Encore and Revival though
And yeah I'm prob raising this to a 4, I dunno I've been listening to this on repeat and it's holding up pretty damn well for me. Def my favorite since Eminem Show, although Kamikazee and MMLP 2 has a couple songs that I like more than anything here

Glad you like Kamikaze at least, idk why that record gets any hate. It’s exactly what people wanted from him after the shitshow that was Revival

I mean Kamikazee def has a few skippable tracks like Nice Guy, and the infamous Venom track is on there so I get it to an extent, but yeah Kamikazee also has some of my favorite songs that hes done in several decades and I give that album a constant spin (while skipping a couple tracks lol)
It definitely deserves way more love. The Ringer, Lucky You, Not Alike and Fall are all straight fucking fire

I made a playlist omitting somebody save me and temporary, and it flows so much better without them.
There are some annoying little parts in some songs, but overall, this is a really great album. Been jamming it all week and it’s only gone up in my estimations.

I've enjoyed it too. Some good beats. No stupid pop hooks. No yelling. Some light-hearted stuff. But even with the take that the third part might be after Shady's death, it still feels disjointed. No hate on Temporary and Save Me but I can't explain what they're doing on this record.

Album is probably still better than Kendrick Lamar

It's a trend to dismiss everything Eminem does. Even when he bounces back and puts out something as vibrant as that with melodic raps nice delivery great production and thought-out lyrics (I thought the last album was good too... 3.5/5). Why is that? Album is cool imho
