yeah, I was a tad harsh on this initially and on further inspection it's just kind of 'bland' I suppose. Mostly inoffensive aside from the possibility mediocrity can actually induce feelings of discomfort and impatience (it happens)

It'd say this could be repurposed as perfectly palatable background music, but that's an insult to genres that lend themselves to that situation more readily

I'm perplexed, more than anything

I have their last album rated a 4/5 so I’m already not a mega fan exactly, but that album is still excellent with many very distinct tracks. This just kind of seemed a bit sterilized comparatively, after one full spin. I’m just hoping I can connect with something as much as So Stay Close or River but nothing stuck out as being as enjoyable yet

This band should digest some Technicolour micro plastics, then eat a heap of Carolina Reapers, then wash that all down with some Pico-Salax

Then they have the right to be called There Will Be Fireworks

For sure I hear some frightened rabbit similarities in there but I feel like that was there on the last album too

I'll probably never get the hype with this group, but I'm happy for anyone who waited 10 years and got what they wanted out of this

Now the idiots have taken over this review thread The people who haven't and will not listen to the album but throw out 1.5s like the candy they like to give to kids, knowing the only emotion they get in life is from seeing others as sad and upset as they are. Way to go gang.

I am looking forward to the presence of Fireworks-based bands in the staff year-end charts considering Fireworks also had a great album this year

Indie rock is either lifechanging or the most boring stuff I have ever heard and there's no in between
