fucking page break!!!

Johnny obvs correct it is a stupid argument.

It’s also a weird line to take with defending this album. It’s hardly the most innovative thing out there, even as someone who loves it; I just think it does the lane that it aims at very well (even if the production is a hot mess that I find endearing inspite of the fact it hurts my brain). The argument that THIS MUST BE INNOVATIVE/ORIGINAL BECAUSE OTHER THINGS EXIST THAT ARE AIMED AT A LOWER COMMON DENOMINATOR is (a) a bad argument and (b) unnecessary. This is fine on its own merits.

However, I would object to someone saying it is actively derivative in the pejorative sense - that implies mindless copy-pasting of ideas to me and I don’t think this does that.

Their debut is slightly less LOUD prod wise imo but I mean it’s Putney so it’s still LOUD

I have a hard time understanding why the production being LOUD is bad, like how the hell else is music like this supposed to sound

No such thing as a terrible production take. Preference there can be every bit as subjective as any other aspect of music. I also find this production to be very ear stabby and it makes me less likely to revisit it.

Tbh I think stuff like this revels in sonic excess, I couldn't really imagine it any other way. I like my BEEG brickwalled production lmao

I think so too. I love the overall sonic palette, but i also love noise, aggrotech, and such. I love it

The last album had a plenty of aggression in the mix without quite reaching the discomfort that this one does.

I felt that way about Splinters, but I guess I'm in the minority there. This album sounds better to my ears
