Idk if I can trust you Flug, you do have Reroute and Clarity rated higher than Jester after all :P
Also lmao @ the opening vocals of Pure Light of Mind, Anders what were you thinking there
|

Davey if it makes you feel any better this is definitely one of the better latter in flames albums, but still nowhere near the old stuff

I don't doubt that, I'm liking it better than Clarity so far if that says anything. There's a lot of good instrumental work here, no thanks in part to Bjorn thankfully still being around and Chris being a great guitarist himself. It's certainly a step in the right direction, especially considering their most recent outputs.

Alright so this just might be the best post-Clayman album from them. Definitely their best in a long time even if a number of flaws from newer In Flames are still present. Overall, it's fine.

Jester race and clayman will always be best in flames

Album Rating: 3.5
Jester Race kinda overrated. Clayman is the best in their classic era for me.

Hard disagree. Jester race brings the heat. Every track is a hard 5 except for maybe title track

Colony is their best akshully

Colony's actually pretty underrated in their golden era, yeah. Zombie Inc. is top 5, maybe even top 3 of In Flames songs.

Zombie inc was mad influential too, considering both Unearth and Atreyu (and probably ever other 00s metalcore band) copied it. Colony the song is my top 1 IF song

That 4 album stretch are all pretty comparable in terms of quality. If I had to pick a weakest it would probably be whoracle by a smidge

Colony is easily my second favorite In Flames album, and can trump Jester Race depending on what I'm in the mood for.

I've always felt like Colony and Clayman destroy Jester. Even Lunar Strain guitar wise has some stuff that matches up to Jester.

whoracle is the best in flames album yall have been caught lacking.

i see lunar strain, jester race and whoracle as a progressing trilogy of their more folky era. they had separate folk and metal tracks on lunar strain, combined the two in a satisfying way on jester race and perfected them on whoracle, specifically jester script transfigured.
