if there were any riffs in that new song i couldn't tell because the mix is like 90% drums and vocals

yeah the guitars are mad quiet. drums vocals and synths all up front. Sounds really weird and dark though so I'm into it.

"if there were any riffs in that new song i couldn't tell because the mix is like 90% drums and vocals"
dude, yes. its so bad, especially given the drums are just doing a blast beat with 64th note kicks THE ENTIRE TIME. i almost find it insulting that they chose to keep the song 8min long and not trim it down. 4min and it might be OK

New song rules

it's incredibly boring but to each their own!
|
| |
That mix is not it
Also their breakdowns still suck. Otherwise pretty good song tbh
The one time the guitars did shine through it was a sick guitar solo so there’s that

still haven't gotten into this band and these descriptions on the new stuff aren't making me want to

"Oblivion" is a fitting title. Complete lack of any even moderately memorable elements.

I loved it personally, and I love the mix. Suits the dark vibe of what they were seemingly trying to go for very well
Feels less “this is a single” and more “this is part of an album experience” so I’m way down for that

Sounds like shit just like this album does. If I liked this band more I'd be really bummed that they couldn't find someone to provide decent production, but they're just exhausting anyway. Breakdowns still suck and I'm fine with never hearing another Ramos vocal flex.

another single dropped, it's fine... I want variety

what part of it didn’t feel varied

I mean when it comes to their sound. It almost feels like Pain Remains 2.0 and they even mentioned that they wanted to improve their sound after that album released.

orchestral intro - double bass verse - chorus with some melodies - repeat until breakdown - Will going crazy - guitar solo - last chorus
They really need to change the formula yeah
|
| |
new track is better than the first one, solo is good and the breakdown is only mildly annoying, the rest is pretty dec for this sound

Really could've done without the stupid brutal breakdown in the new track, feels really out of place in the overall more hopeful and melodic vibe. At least it's short.
|
| |
But how could that be? A Lorna Shore track without a breakdown is like a school void of students.
