I've never been a fan of any 'djent' that I've heard (admittedly not a lot, but nothing has ever truly wowed me), but I've also never heard a single Meshuggah album, and apparently they're the forerunners of this amorphized subgenre.

As any good lad, I started with their first album.

Why does this sound so much like a long-lost Metallica record?

I'll have to check. Usually not too huge on thrash, either, but this isn't bad so far.

Probably Qualms or Cadaverous Mastication! Side note, I've got the reloaded version of this that has 4 None tracks tacked on, and that version of this is a HARD 5.

Absolutely, None is all the way up there.

Qualms would be my pick too I think. Or Abnegating Cecity.

Abnegating Cecity is another fantastic pick. I know this isn't the sound people come to Meshuggah for, but for what this is, its so damn good.
