I’ve enjoyed this more than pretty much anything I’ve heard the past few years. It has that timeless atmosphere you hear on a lot of 90s albums but rarely hear on modern productions

It's weird that they released the digital version with Skyclad Passage as bonus track after the actual closer Eostre when they could have put it where it belongs on the album before Masters of Rain and Storm. I bought the 1 x LP not even realizing that it's only on the 2 x LP Version, but whatever, not the end of the world since that's pretty much how everyone else is listening to it digitally, and it seems to flow very well without it in the middle, and certainly excluded from the end.

Spirit of Lightning is amazing. but i do miss a little bit of the echoey atmosphere from other albums. this one is a lot more immediate, and has a flatter sound imo. But probably a good thing, people need to get into black metal more than they would otherwise. Two hunters, then celestial lineage are best imo then probably this. Two hunters is magical. thrice woven was a bit underwhelming i thought
