I regret sleeping on this when it came out. What an immense album, every song has a hook that gets lodged in my head after hearing it once.

It really is. Not hard to connect with, the emotion is so palpable from both Ed and Paul. Can't decide on a best song, there are no weak moments and each listen I connect with a different song a little more than the last.

Might 5 this.

Haven't listened to this in awhile - might change this tonight. Always loved the band and everything they've released so far.

It’s coming my friends, just taking a bit longer than planned because of the amount of material. Hoping to start recording later this year. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer… without giving any secrets away of course

Thanks as always, Paul.

I'll give it a shot:

1. Any estimates on how many songs will make the album?

2. Are the songs shorter or longer than usual? Maybe a mix of both?

3. In general, how would you summarize the vibe of the new material?

4. Any particular "working title" song you're most excited about - and why?

5. What do you like most about music in general these days?

Feel free to skip any question that might be too revealing!

Hi Teal,

I'll do my best with these and sorry some may be a bit vague for now... It's always nice to keep some surprises back

1. We tend to lean towards 10 tracks on every album, i think this will end up being 10 as well and that has a lot to do with the record not overstaying its welcome (over an hour can be a struggle for most listeners) and also how that fits onto a double LP.

We will be recording more tracks though

2. It's a mixture of 4-7ish minute tracks at present.

3. This album is definitely darker and moodier than the more recent records, that said, there is a mixture of feels as you'd expect with us. I will say that it is less poppy in structures on most tracks than Loss, it has a weighty atmospheric that fits more with the emotion of present times. Loss was a very hopeful record in feel, this has elements of that but also slaps some big contrast against it, because of that contrast, vocally we've been able to explore some really interesting and satisfying melodies, and i think there are genuine discography standout moments in what we've penned so far - I'm sure you guys will let us know if there aren't though haha.

4. these working titles are definitely not staying but; Apocoda (chaotic, riffy, majestic), JustAnotha1 (riffy, big big chorus, ethereal), Old School (hard to describe but it does a lot of really interesting stuff)....

I love a lot though so it's tough to name one or two.

5. I think the thing i'm enjoying at present in music is the rise of bands who have deserved to be huge for ages and are finally getting their time. That and bands doing actually interesting stuff being given a platform - I hate seeing trash bands get given the escalator to the top over hardworking and far more talented groups.
