There’re plenty of bonus tracks at least, fwiw one can make a very good full-length album playlist from the 4 best songs here with the 5 best bonus tracks.

this and to the bone suck hard. i would say reform porcupine tree, but given that Wilson has said in recent years that basically he was in control of the band and basically without saying it, that he was the band essentially, i don't think the other guys would work with him

Anyone check the new Frost* album? It's the Steven Wilson album we deserved this year but not the one he delivered.

really? That good? I enjoyed Falling Satellites a lot, but for some reason I thought I wouldn't like ''Day and Age''

Oh I'd say. Granted I don't think it's as good as Hand or Raven but it's a pretty great prog album with a lot more substance than this project.
Speaking of which, I need to lower my rating...

Backing vocals in the chorus of 12 Things remind me how much of a sucker for vocalizations I am.

Never properly jammed but I love me some Rock Lobster

Check out 52 Girls and Private Idaho. Those are just two but they have lots of songs where the vocal harmonies are *chef’s kiss*

Cheers, will add to my neverending list.

Porcupine Tree was Wilson's band, just like Opeth is Akerfeldt's. I love Richard and Colin and Gavin is my favorite drummer, but it was always Steven's band. That being said, attempting a reunion after this piss effort doesn't feel like it would work because SW doesn't seem interested in rock currently. I was heartbroken that the band split up, but I'm glad we at least got Raven and Hand out of it (tho I feel like those could've easily been PPT records)

going pop can be great (look at Tame Impala's Currents) but Wilson certainly failed at it, at least for now

I've no qualms with people changing genres, and Wilson was doing pop a long time before this album, but he went into preachy, self-indulgent bullshit territory. I blame him getting married lol

Steven Wilson was preachy way before this, but he would sugar-coat it with amazing music. I like that he's trying to do something different with each of his solo albums, even if I haven't listened to this one in months. Hopefully he'll perfect the formula.
Why put it on his marriage?
