@iLikeSchlager earlier stuff is more raw hardcore while recitation/atheist are more post-rock oriented. I'd say this and Insomniac are the ones that balance both sides of the band better. All the footprints is my fave I think, but this and the three aformentioned are all great works.
I'd definitely recommend crono for this band but at first listens a lot of it can sound similar and confusing, so maybe do a first listen and then focus on the album that catches your attention the most and get to know it better

Still think this has been overhyped but it’s good for sure. I just don’t think they’ll ever match any of their pre-Insomniac Doze stuff although Abyssal and the splits with Thursday and Jesu were very close
