OK this album is like not terrible but it's not nearly as good as the first three.

Not a single song on here better than The Blister Exists alone.

A lot of the heavy songs use the same tricks and the drums feel so secondary. Like, it never feels like the drums were ever meant to the be the cool part. They just follow the guitars and vocals endlessly.

And a lot of the choruses could use some work. Slipknot used to write good choruses that were suited towards metal while being somewhat poppy, here they often strip songs of their energy while simultaneously lacking memorable hooks.

1 2 fucking 3

Drums and choruses are bland as hell. Not even the same ballpark as their prime

As someone that primarily focuses on the drumming in songs, as a drummer myself that's just what sticks out most to me, I actually found myself thinking I didn't miss Joey at all lol.

I will agree that they aren't overly flashy or anything. On .5 I could very clearly notice the replacement and it bogged down my experience. Here it wasn't as glaring imo

I love A Liar's Funeral progression, once you pass the Stone Sour entrance...super cool track
