sure and you might not associate to that level the impact of seasonal context and such and give it a more personally objective rating

my only point really was because this can be seen so much as being tied to a particular season and can suffer in quality when removed from that context that personally I tend to rate favourably in that regard

same as how a lot of the really atmospheric wistful bm i sometimes jam in winter ill usually rate based on that experience rather than if I were to jam it on a mediterranean beach in july

It's one of a handful I prefer to listen to completion when I listen. Hallmark of a great album imo.

Ok fair enough but I'm still enjoying all the same other summery neo soul albums just as much as I was during those months so I dont think that I've had that problem much

Yeah on first listen new jamila didnt floor me as much as intrigue me but its grown on me a lot and it's a huge improvement from her last consistency-wise, I'm proud of her

I think that bells atlas album in particular should be noted in this discussion btw, painfully overlooked

I just love all the little sonic details that are on this because Tyler is so clearly just a music nerd who ranks the bridges of albums like all of us in his spare time

case in point: that bridge on I THINK might be my favourite thing this year
