Stairway To Heaven is literally the most perfect blend of folk and rock ever created in a song. It's a song whose lyrics will read differently for every single person on earth and by god if it's not one of Plant's best vocal performances then I don't know what is. The way the flute and guitar intertwine together is nothing short of genius as well. I'm sorry Ars but Stairway To Heaven is just THE perfect song.

It's one of those few Zeppelin songs you can say with certainty that it is not a blues rip off :P

It doesn't rip off Taurus, it uses 3 of the same notes in a row in the beginning out of a 30 note long riff. That's not what I call a rip off.

@fallenbird The chords are also the same or at least very close harmonics. Try singing the verse you can get to "and she's buying a stairway..." It's not like it ruins the song or anything I'm just saying it's a minor flaw we all wish we could do away with. Darn Spirit and Muddy Waters have to go and de-mythologize our idols!
