My God, would that be amazing. I would kill for AFI's every b-side.

Tied To A Tree is very cool and very different, like most AFI closers. Definitely has NIN vibes. The production reminds me of some of the darker stuff that Jade has been doing with Blaqk Audio recently.

like they might as well drop the album, how the actual fuck are they going to release 7 singles. who gave that the a-ok

It's just how labels work these days. They probably figure that they'll get more views/make more money by drip feeding the album as opposed to releasing it all at once. Albums as a concept might as well not exist to record labels these days.

i bet it is the label's fault but what other band is releasing SEVEN PRE-RELEASE SINGLES these days????!?!

AFI is so slutty these days 🤷❤️

More than you'd think. Songs tend to get a lot more views/plays if they release one at a time as opposed to all at once. When a band puts an entire album on youtube for example, most tracks get significantly less views than the singles do. Releasing the majority of an album before release is becoming commonplace. Covid probably incentivized labels to push this strategy even harder since touring isn't happening and merch sales have probably slowed to a crawl.

I still haven't checked out the last two singles they dropped. And I haven't re-listened to any for a month or two. Holding out for getting some semblance of a new album experience come release day.

Well I hate that they dropped another single, but whatever. Worst album release. Anyway, new song is good but confused why it’s not a blaqk audio track... this type of experimentation was the exact reason they made blaqk audio, so afi would remain their rock output (not like this and 37mm)

Can’t wait to listen to the final 4 tracks on June 11th! Hopefully we get lucky and they give us an 8th or 9th single just a little bit early!

"this type of experimentation was the exact reason they made blaqk audio, so afi would remain their rock output"
They felt this way in 2009 when they released Crash Love. It's been a long time since then and they went back to experimenting with electronic elements on the very next album. You can't really hold them to something they said 15 years ago, lol. Plus, Tied To A Tree would be about as experimental for Blaqk Audio as it is for AFI.

^ fair, I wont hold them to something they said 12 years back, but you gotta admit, Tied to a Tree is much more of an experimental track for them than anything off of CL, Burials, Blood and Missing Man. I think it sounds more like a Blaqk Audio track personally.
Regardless, I dig it, so it doesn't really matter.

ideally, album would've released in April/May
TT/LA's release could stay the same, that was perfect. Dulceria in March. Maybe Far Too Near a week before release if they were so inclined. and that should've been it.
