2018 was a great year for alternative hip hop, but this was mostly derivative. It's not about being contrarian it's about being disappointed that this didnt live up to my expectations of him.

I get that. Probably a key factor that separates our opinions on this is just the fact that I'm very production focal when I listen to hip-hop, and I've listened to so much that I'm really critical when I hear new stuff and it sounds too familiar. I get bored with beats v easily if I feel the sounds, techniques, and samples are derivitive

All I seem to see is people either saying it’s a mess but they like it, or sayin that the general consensus likes it so it must be good. Those aren’t reasons tho. If it’s a feeling I’m not feeling it lol.
