double post...
I’m super excited for a new album from them, hoping they can match this album again!

This album feels pretty singular to me, and historically Emery has followed up their classic albums with good-but-not-great albums (I'm Only a Man after The Question, We Do What We Want after In Shallow...)

I'll be excited to listen but I'm keeping expectations modest. The one or two songs post-Eve songs I have heard from them haven't been amazing.

Am I the only one thinking that they’ve got inspired by Brand New? Lots of tunes that reminded me of them

idk, Brand New's songwriting is a lot more deliberate while Emery's is very immediate by design -- even their Big Emotional Songs waste no time. Brand New is more intense, maybe, but Emery is more energetic.
That's not a value judgment, just a different approach

These guys have never screamed BN at me although they have similar levels of passion. I need to listen to this album again though before committing to that statement.

I think Emery are a lot more playful than BN.

BN is very serious about their music where is Emery sounds like they are just messing around.

There were some chord progressions, mainly on Streets of Gold and Shame that reminded me of Daisy era BN. But yeah, BN is more serious in terms of songwriting

more serious...lol i don't think so...more like Jesse got some perfectionist issues and Emery doesn't

They just had Connor and Jeff from BNO on their podcast two days ago and they performed ‘I got punched in the nose for sticking my face in other people’s business”. It was a good watch
