The third time really was the charm for me on this. Everything's clicking into place conceptually for me, and fuck this album is gorgeous.

This might be her best.

Really. I was mesmerised by her previous release, but this gobsmacked me.
Btw, the KEXP-live performance is worth a watch, excellent mixing.

I listened to the first track when it came out and loved it. I stopped there as I felt that I wasn't familiar enough with her previous albums.
That was a mistake, the hype was really justified here.

i already loved this record enough on its own, but the material from it really comes to life in a live setting. there's so much room for these tracks to breathe, really feels like it's just all organically unfolding in front of you. beautiful show

Yeah she was great at Pitchfork. I Shall Love 2 was surprisingly really amazing to hear live.

Yeah I was! I live in Chicago. I was in the middle, out of the pit.

Replayed this earlier this morning and honestly found it a chore to get through. LCS is a decade contender for me but I think this one is considerably weaker

it's not an "easy" listen, yea... but fuck most of it is just gorgeous and so intricate, like a baroque painting.
I LUV IT.

More like a load of Jackson Pollocks amirite

From someone who has 4.5'd a Holter in the past, I concur

hate is strong
it's 'the poor/boring side of average' as is the rationale behind my 2 out of 5 ratings

Her most divisive, if anything. I personally love it. Also a Pollock would be a better comparison. Dramatic, intense, almost violent and very personal.
