I said "money is overrated" literally once, in the context of the tradeoffs of fame being not worth the additional utility of having an additional order of magnitude in the bank account. Money "over"rated. Meaning that many people OVERestimate the value of money and what it will do for them. In reality, money is nice to meet basic needs and in order to be treated with some fucking humanity and decency, but past that it really isn't going to do anything for you.

We live in a capitalistic society that places it’s value on money. Therefore, there are certain opportunities, items and experiences that you cannot achieve without $$$. To say money is overrated is to say these opportunities, items and experiences are also overrated, which is clearly not true.
