Like I hate when people prop up a work of art because of some proposed cultural background of Too Much Irony against which its sincerity resonates but I would do exactly that with this album; it's not arch or ironic in a way that seems to be popular even with pop music today, it's so completely honest and open to me. ANd happy. I dunno maybe lately I've seen music as an escape from overwhelming subjective anguish and have come to value positivity too much but basically I like that musgraves is not "cool" in any conventional way maybe. Or maybe she is cool. Whatever! Hey guys

i think i connect with this for the same reason essentially. it's just such a feel-good album and i consume a lot of depressing music usually. it's nice to play something lighthearted and fun. i mean it certainly has its sad beats but overall it makes me happy as hell. there's so much wonder in tracks like 'oh, what a world' and 'slow burn'

i think the 1 just seems sorta egregious. if it's not your thing then that's fine, i'm sure this bores a lot of people, but a 1 seems like it should be reserved for the most deplorable shit imaginable and i just fail to see how this is that bad.
