what the hell... the intro to the orange grove and palm reader is the same lol
good call. they've always had a knack for connecting their albums together in some way

this feels like a 3.8 or 3.9 to me after a couple listens, it's probably not in the TGG/Suburbia tier. but my love of this band depends a lot on my emotional state
edit: nah it's at least a 4, closer got me good

Feather. Nice. Agree to all of that. Except the Kyoto/Dismantling Summer one.

The Kyoto/Dismantling Summer one is specifically lyric related ...
"If I'm in an airport and you're in a hospital bed, well then what kind of man does that make me" this line was about how he was at an airport touring while his grandpa was in the hospital
and in Kyoto his grandpa actually dies in the hospital and Dan is out touring in Kyoto. Kind of creepy foreshadowing tbh

@Atari I was shocked when no one had pointed that out yet. That was the first thing I noticed about The Orange Grove.

"It Must Get Lonely" is one of the most simultaneously depressing and upbeat songs I've ever heard

Haven't watched the Simpsons since I was like 13. Apparently it's still going.

10 is the last season you need ya with a few scattered episodes from 11 and 12 maybe
I've been rewatching too (never watched a whole season front to back before, actually, just grew up watching whatever episode was on when I had dinner). Season 2 is a goddamn masterstroke

One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish from season 2 is definitely an all-time favorite
I still have my old dvd box sets for season 1-8. They’re scratched to shit but still play fine for the most part :]

i still kinda enjoy shows that have been on long past their prime, the simpsons being a huge one because i dont think theres very many truly bad episodes even at this point (whereas family guy for example is pretty fuckin terrible a lot of the time). yea they'll never be anywhere near as great as those first 8-10 seasons but the new ones are still fun enuf (like generally 6/10 quality) to watch em over lunch at home when i dont have anything else to watch. that said i've watched all the way thru to season 26 or 27 i think i can only remember like 3 episodes from season 19 onwards off the top of my head. still, i remember enjoying watching those seasons.
also at this point i've seen the first 10 seasons so many times that they've become exclusively once-in-a-while things to watch, so the mere fact that the new episodes are new is quite enjoyable to me. :P

I saw this one Treehouse of Horror where the whole shtick was that the dialogue rhymed, and it was so embarrassingly awful that I refuse to ever watch another new episode. The couch gags are still phenomenonal tho
