This album is perfectly "pleasant" to listen to, but it doesn't have much substance to hold onto.

This just confuses me. Like I've said, this sounds like something people were be criticizing more the same way they've criticized other tech albums. But this one seems to get a free pass for some reason and it overshadows artists that I think have put out much stronger and enjoyable releases.

I've listened to a shitload of albums this year so far and this one stood way out. I don't even follow the hype, I had no idea other sites were rating it so highly. This review came entirely just from my personal impressions of it.

I mean this is doing the exact same thing that The Faceless have been doing for two albums now but I will admit this is much better than The Faceless' take on it.

No. Cheesy overproduced death/tech/prog chuga chuga junz metal with random sax thrown in is precisely the kind of formula this site at large will eat up without hesitation.
