@izlez I think the process rather was they couldn't fit Eve into any track sequencing of the album that they were satisfied with so they put it out as a B-side to the main single instead.

Glad to see people digging this. Still not sure how I feel. Probably a high 3.5 to low 4, but that's only 3 listens

I don't know if its their most consistent album but it is definitely their most varied. This album goes in so many directions I did not expect.

idk, lots of the things this does feel like the logical next steps from a lot of what was on AWLWLB, mixed with some of the more abrasive notes from YFM and ATF

it's certainly not AWLWLB 2.0, but it follows

OK, after a first listen:
Loved the first 2 songs, got me real excited.
Seemed to fall off a TINY amount the rest of the album.
Didn't like the slower songs that much, which is weird for me.
The songs I had already heard already grew on me, so hopefully the rest do that too.
I want Eve as a closer...but I can get over it.
I think this probably settles right into the mix of other Converge for me. Which is: YFM slightly ahead of a tie between JD, AWLWLB, and ATF (I haven't really given the other stuff much time as I'm (somehow) relatively new to Converge and it's a lot to take in)

I have a feeling its a grower yea

The lyrics are pretty blunt and straight to the point which I like, and pretty cohesive, the album seeming to oscillate between a couple of key themes

I wouldnt say this is that experimental though imho. Like, its nothing out of this world for the genre, it plays to the genre's strengths with a few nuances and detours here and there

AtF and AWLWLB are still as great as they were but this is easily their best since YFM.

i rly doubt that based on the released tracks but will see

I just wish the vocals weren't quite so reserved in places. I want him to lose his shit again like in the JD days, but I suppose that's wishful thinking

Reptilian is dope. I'm glad they didn't do what a bunch of (Ballou)core bands have been doing and closing with a long draw-out song even if it would've been Eve.
