On my second full listen, and tracks 2-4 are all flawless.

This is really good, if a tad uneven (some tracks are utterly forgettable). But the highlights more than make up for it. I like this better than Hand Cannot Erase but not as much as Raven.

I don't like it as much as either but still a great listen and I'm sure it'll sound amazing live

I think I like track 1 even more than 2-4 but they're all excellent

If I were to rank his solo albums it'd be HCE>GfD>this>Raven=4 1/2>Insurgentes>Cover Version none below 4. Raven is his best solo song.

For me hand cannot erase lost its appeal rapidly whereas this continues to get better. A well formed original rock record is an impossibility to make these days so fair fucks to Steve.

This is better than I thought it was at first. Still not as good as the previous ones thought.

Especially Detonation.

"Refuge" is definitely a SOTY contender.

Yeah and a few others for me. That, t/t, Detonation, and Song of Unborn are my top favs I think.

Y'all realize that King Gizzard and Everything Everything dropped albums on the same day as Stevie, and they're both vastly superior?

Naw, the King Gizz album is interesting, but it doesn't reach quite as many highs as this album does.

It's their third this year already, isn't it? Damn, prolific.

I don't see how they can churn two more out. The past three have been good, but why?
