^what asdfp277 said.
People who like them are really vocal about the hate put against them. The more people bash on them the more people want to defend them.
People who hate them seem to really hate them, and like bashing on them because of how passionately people like them.
It's the old fat bastard dilemma.

I like how you're reading way too into my responses man. The language is supposed to be circular so that neither is in the right more than the other. Chill a little.

"someone actually described periphery as having layered music, lmao"
because they do, lmao

There's so much shit going on in most Periphery songs production-wise, they without a doubt have a layered sound. Beyond that, they have 3 guitarists.. If you don't like them that's cool but if you don't think their sound is layered then lol

Right? Three guitarists doing (mostly) different things plus electronica. I can understand people who think there's TOO much stuff going on in their songs, but scoffing at the fact that they have layers means one is probably mostly deaf.
Either that, or the closest they've come to listening to Periphery's music was reading KILL's review (djun djun djoing whatever) and then trolling on Periphery threads to fit in with the cool Sput crowd.

Yeah, The Way The News Goes... made me want to die and I like a grand majority of their songs. I'd even go so far as to say I hate the song. But the rest of the album isn't bad, just not as good or as interesting as their others.
Also, from earlier in the thread there was a lot of shit talk towards MK Ultra. That song is really cool.

Ehhh, to each their own. The blastbeat bits are a bit off, but I love the Holcomb leads and the bit where the riffy guitars come in over the lead towards the end.
|
| |
That's one of my favorites on the album. Not too often you hear melodic singing over blast beats. Actually can't think of another example although I'd like to hear one
