It would if people didn't get so offended at my takes like I shot their dog or something. Not that that is happening here, but it does happen frequently to me which gets on my nerves. I've grown up with friends who mostly share my same opinions, but we also all grew up on the internet pretty late in our lives. These opinions can seem contrarian on the surface, but there are actually a lot more people who hold opinions like these than you think. In real life, their are a lot of people who like movies that internet culture deems "universally hated". I mean FFS the internet loves to call the Transformers movies the worst movies in existence and yet the series was nearly consistently pulling in a billion-dollars at the box office.

I never got the hate for the dialogue of the Prequel trilogy. Like, yeah the dialogue is very cheesy when compared to the OG trilogy, but that was kind of the point.



The time of the Prequel trilogy was engraved with royalty, princesses, knights, and dark wizards. This was a period in which language was infused with romanticism, and it was primarily inspired by early 1910-1920's Pulp Novels. It is a gilded age where the rich and powerful talk in a manner that separates them from the common rabble. It's why when Ob-Wan is talking to the council or other people of power, he talks with very cheesy chivalric vernacular, but when he is talking to the common people, like in AotC his language and demeanor almost immediately changes.



Just like how in Episode I everybody in Tatooine mostly talks regular English alongside their native language, whereas everyone else is extremely fanciful. Even Anakin changes his demeanor and use of language from Episode 1 to 2.



Also, if I was raised as a slave on a hopeless desert planet, I'd fucking hate sand too. It is rough, it is coarse, and it does get everywhere. Nothing he said is incorrect.

^ well said, I like how the prequels feel like a totally different universe than the og trilogy, as they should. I think the overall plot and story of the prequels is awesome, it could have been better executed tho. I still like the prequels and I'm almost 30, fuck it.

Absolutely, it's not perfect. The scene probably would have been better received if Anakin said something like "I hate sand, it reminds me of the cage I used to live in" or something to that effect.
