Not sure I get some of the 4.0+ ratings. Listening to this, there's definitely some good sounds coming out, but man a lot of it is just sooo by the numbers, ugh. Especially songs like "Stay With Me" - holy hell. That could literally be a song by any average radio rock band.

Yeah the chorus of Stay With Me is 100% a "please play me on the radio and make me a pop star" chorus. Some people in this thread have said the song is amazing. I can't wait to introduce those people to the UK top 40 charts -- that shit would blow their minds!

Stay With Me and Wake Up are let-downs. Thrice are generally pretty good at open-hearted anthemic tracks (The Long Defeat, Anthology, In Exile) but those two are disappointing.

Stay With Me is one of my faves. The lyrics in the verses are what bring it together, imo and I feel like everyone criticizing the repetitive chorus lyrics, but it's the chord progression in that section that makes it work.
