It really is not

You say unique voice, I say insufferable voice
Obviously I can't really judge this but the tiny bits of this that I've listened to gave me some of the most viscerally negative reactions I've ever gotten from music that I actually thought I might be interested in.

Lmao fair enough
You prob wouldn't like I Am a Bird Now then, even if it is beautifully depressing

I don't get the divisiveness of this album, the beats alone make this pretty hard to justify giving less than a 2.5 to but then again they also aren't engaging enough to give much more than a 4 to and the lyrics and vocals sometimes drag it down from there too

idk I'll say that the beats go well with the vocals. They aren't bad per se, but like sometimes it all blends together in a some sort of sickening void that I have trouble sitting all the way through without getting physically annoyed. I won't claim that this album doesn't have a distinct sound, but at the same time some part of me gets a slapped-together feel out of this album, but maybe I should bump if I was completely 'objective'

| |
Given the themes tho it could be argued the sickening void feeling works in its favor

oh of course, it's one of those albums that I rated more from gut feeling which obviously might not be the choice, but at the same time I'd go to other albums first either to dance, hear weird vocals or even feel repulsed so it falls into that weird category where this album didn't fail in its purpose, but I don't have any desires to return to it

I just listened to the first 5 songs from this album while walking my dog -- yikes. I don't get the hype at all.

yeah this a nihilistic and bracing assault on liberal navelgazing worked through liberal's most profound weaknesses: irony, self-criticism, hooks that take days - weeks -- to enter the psyche. there's no oleaginous platitudes here, no vaunting of class structural mobility as analogous with success. sticks it's boots in the kidneys and i've loved pissing blood for months. bloody great
