It was weird, I was kind of just lukewarm on it until the last couple of songs and then when New Friends came back on I was just happy to hear it again, like hearing an album you haven't heard in years and didn't know how much you missed it.

Same, the beginning was vocal and lyric driven, and it wasn't towards the end when I got used to their sound that I appreciated the melodies.

Don't make me sad, guys. They're one of my favorite bands. Garden Window and Endless Light are basically 5's for me. I admit I was underwhelmed by their performance when they opened for Dillinger, but the other 2-3 times I saw them were top-notch.

They made leather bookmarks with the lyric, 'You are light, you are time, you are endless,' screen-printed and every time I open whatever book I'm reading it makes me happy. They're very nice guys and leave handwritten thank you notes when they pack their merch.
