"The biggest influences I hear on maudlin are King Crimson and metal bands like Tiamat and Opeth and My Dying Bride. King Crimson influence follows Toby’s whole career in a cool way." Ya definitely, throw in Some Gorguts too.
"Choirs and Dowsing have build ups and crescendoes in a post-rock fashion". Could you reference a particular crescendo please? like a time in a track, I'm interested.
"I never said they sound similar or anything beyond those elements" ye I only mentioned what I did in the brackets in case you though I was hating on GYBE (;.
"Godspeed would be considered the most influential" Sure and Yanqui is one of the strongest pure examples of chamber rock.

Yea Gorguts influence especially on Hubardo.
I didn’t think you were hating on Godspeed, I just wanted to clarify that I don’t think their music is that similar to any of Toby’s bands beyond sharing some qualities of post-rock here and there including the instrumentation.
In terms of examples, Wayfarer slowly builds to that heavy solo 2/3s of the way thru then quiets down again. Manifold builds to that epic heavy section with the clarinet, gets quiet again, then builds to the extreme metal at the end. A Pitcher of Summer builds to the heavy sections in the middle. Dynamics and build ups and crescendoes are major qualities of it. Same with Dowsing, at least the first half, but then the band changed.

Ya I see what you mean. I guess I'm just arguing semantics. I was looking for more definitive links between them because that's what I associate with the word influence.
Anyway, the band's influences are usually hard to pin down hence why KD is so good.

google drive would be ideal :0

Some bossa nova elements here and there. It's mainly the ferryman where it's intergrated well with the other elements. Especially the part after the crazy organ section.

No prob, hope ya'll enjoy. I tried to preserve the integrity of the songs while making the edits sound as natural as possible, but sometimes there wasn't really an alternative to just fade-outs.
