Except that american metalcore bands don't have such good production, not to mention sense of melody. American bands just can't do melody right, it always turns out cringeworthy as fuck like dunno, darkness embedded by divine heresy for example. Textbook faggy melodic song by a usually heavy band. Soilwork is everything but that

Have you not listened to Darkest Hour?

the production on this isn't good so idk how that came into it, one of the worst Jens Bogren mixes with crappy distorted cymbals and no beef at all

thankfully the music is pretty ace so it works out anyway, but yeh i'd say Darkest Hour were pretty close to the quality of these guys

nah Bogren has had some great mixes in his time but the production here is much worse than most of his stuff. Compared to Aenigma, With Oden By Our Side or even The Living Infinite this has no punch or balls and isn't even particularly well balanced.

fun fact, Jens Bogren didn't produce this, he just did the mixing and mastering

which is what I complained about?

you can have a not super well produced album and still have a decent mix. think Never, Neverland or Rust In Peace.

The Phantom is fantastic, but overall this is a definite step down from Living Infinite
